The Violet Veil Mysteries: A Case Of Grave Danger

At the Veil Funeral Parlour, a young man lies in his coffin waiting for the final attentions of the funeral director before he is buried in a freshly-dug grave.

But, on the night of the miracle, the undertaker’s daughter Violet is awoken by odd noises. Going to investigate, she finds the coffin empty, the back door open and fresh footprints leading to the graveyard next door. And so begins a quest to prove that a recent series of mysterious deaths may have been murders rather than accidents.

Luckily Violet has always felt close to the dead and with their help, and that of her loyal dog Bones, she is determined and fearless in her pursuit of truth and justice.

Set in the Victorian era, Violet’s adventure will appeal to any lover of all things goth while multiple changes of direction will keep readers engaged and busily collecting clues as they go along.

Throughout the story, Violet is dismissed and underestimated – partly because of her age but more often because she is female. At a time when girls were often less educated and many had their life choices restricted by their gender, Violet’s experiences highlight issues of equality and women’s rights.
