Parkinson has gathered a magical selection of tales about girls being turned into butterflies, enchanted princesses, mysterious lands and strange creatures. Although well suited to a younger audience, Parkinson’s stately prose is timeless, beautiful and enthralling, and is perfectly accompanied by Whelan’s detailed, colourful and magical illustrations.
