The Sleeping Prince is tightening his grip on the throne and taking over the land. Errin has been taken prisoner, and is completely under his command. The apothecaries have been captured as well, and are being used to create the potion that keeps the prince alive. Errin is desperate to escape and save Silas, but the prince is intent on keeping her enslaved.
Outside the palace, Twylla is on the run with a few survivors, and she knows she is the only person who can stop the prince. The towns have all fallen to him, but there are pockets of people who are willing to rebel.
This is the gripping finale in the trilogy that began with The Sin Eater's Daughter. It is a quick-paced, addictive read that will leave readers holding their breaths until the very last page.
Note: The book does contain sex and violence.
