The River
Publisher: Caterpillar Books
A cut-out from the front cover shows a hologram of our heroic fish going on an epic adventure to the sea. Starting in the ice-capped mountains, the fish travels downstream from the snowy peaks to the pine forests dappled in sunlight. The journey ends in the sparkling sea that is filled with fish, just like her.
A very simple rhyming text highlights some of the wildlife and scenery the fish passes through - but this book is all about the illustration. The hologram fish travels through beautiful spreads of cute animals and gorgeous scenes of seasonal landscapes.
The book could be of use to teachers as inspiration for an art project or writing project around nature, but it will be welcomed by much younger readers as a gentle bedtime rhyme.
