Love the Gruffalo and got this as a gift for my son at Xmas. He loves this book as much as the Gruffalo.

We love that it rhymes and has a sense of repitition. The kiddies like that it isn't too scary because the rabbit is the main character. They enjoy it at any time of day. You can also act it out.

I read this to my son after reading the Gruffalo (you carnt read one without the other), I have to read the Gruffalo and Gruffalo child parts in a Scottish accent (badly) and my son thinks its hilarious! Fantastic follow-on story and still just as exciting as the Gruffalo.

This is another great book from our Julia Donaldson collection. I highly recommend her for all toddlers and preschoolers. My little boy Robert is 3 and he loves to read along and giggle with this book. He also likes to make noises for the animals in the book and we play a little game along the way asking if he can spot any other on the pages and there is always one on every page.

Jessica really enjoyed this story and she joined in by repeating parts of the story and making the animal noises. We had fun after reading the book watching the DVD, and as she was watching the DVD she relayed some of the story back to me.

The Gruffalo legend continues... My son loves this book, although for a while there he found it a bit too scary and we had to stop reading before the climactic 'big bad mouse' scene! As always Axel Sheffler's illustrations are brilliantly inventive and the rhyming story is fun and very satisfying.

As soon as I began to read this story to Isla she smiled and locked eye contact with me. She thoroughly enjoyed the rhyming as she was kicking her legs all the way through. As I turned some pages she changed her direction of vision towards the book.

I love this book, has a great rhythm to read to and my eldest loves us all doing actions to describe the "monster" to his baby sister, which she adores.

I started reading this to my little boy when he was eleven months old; now he's just over one and seeks out this board book and hands it over to be read! He loves the illustrations and will sit and "read" the book himself and babble as he looks at the pictures. Lovely, bouncing rhyming story - a favourite at any time.

Me and my son always read this book after the gruffalo, can't read the gruffalo and not the gruffalos child. Bedtime is a little dragged out but it's worth it to listen to him read along with me.

My little boy is only 8weeks old when he was 6weeks old my nephew gave Edward a bag of books he had finished with and this was one of the books. He likes the gruffalo too I think it's the repetitive rhyme of the stories by this author I also enjoy reading them to him. I recommend this book it reminds me of stories from when I was a child and I'm glad there are still nice children's books about

We watched this on the telly over Christmas and both boys were gripped. And it snowed so they liked the snow in the book. Lovely story with recognisable characters from the Gruffelo. Great illustrations not scary for night time. We have the board version that is taking some hammer and still in good condition.

This is one of the Best books for Children, I have been reading Julia Donaldson to my son since he was 1, he is 1 and a half now and the first thing he does when he walks into his bedroom to go to bed at night is point at his books. The smile never leaves his face and he loves the voices I put on for the different characters. Ive now ordered the whole collection of Julia Donaldson lol :)

After reading the gruffalo so many times that we knew it by heart, we brought this book for our son. Aiden enjoys this every bit as much as he enjoyed the gruffalo and we now read this just as much.

My daughter recieved this as a birthday present and whils she doesn't seem to enjoy it quite as much as The Gruffalo she still frequently asks for it, she refers to it as the "gruffalo snow book". Initially my daughter loved guessing who the footprints belonged to, now she shouts the answer out as we turn the page. She likes that there is a "daddy gruffalo" in it.

Read this to my baby girl in our reading rocking chair in her nursery, three weeks old. Great book that brings back the familiar original nicely.
MrPaul, 29 July 2011
-
A good book - but nowhere near as good as the original Gruffalo. My little one still enjoys it - but it doesn't engage him in the way that the first one did. That doesn't mean to say that this is a bad book β it just isn't the exceptional book that the first one was. The Gruffalo is a hard act to follow! Still a very enjoyable read and a good book to have if your little one is a fan of the first book β continues the story and enables them to continue with the theme.
Wigster, 11 July 2011

My son was huge fan of the Gruffalo and he loves this book just as much. He likes the fact that there is a 'baby gruffalo' as he calls her. Another great story with great rhymes from the author.
