11 brilliant rewilding books 20/03/25
Suzy Orbit, Astronaut
Publisher: Nosy Crow
Suzy Orbit, an engineer, lives on the moon with her boss Captain Gizmo. One day, an alert call comes in from Earth, telling them that aliens have been spotted in the solar system and that Suzy and the Captain should launch their space pod immediately!
Problem is, they don’t have a space pod. Suzy offers to make one, but the Captain prefers to buy one instead.
The next minute, aliens are approaching the moon! The Captain and Suzy need to get dressed in their best spacesuits, but guess what? They don’t have any. Finally, the aliens arrive to deliver some rather bad news… But Suzy has an invention up her sleeve that might just save the day.
This STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) focused picture book also explores concepts of remaking, reusing and making do: that making something from the materials that we have available might be a better solution than ordering something new and ready-made.
