What to Read After... Isadora Moon 28/03/25
Sorceress
Publisher: Bloomsbury Children's Books
Accused of witchcraft, Mary flees from the Puritan settlement of Beulah into the icy wastes of the New World. She is rescued by Native Americans and begins a new life of happiness, shot through with tragedy, magic and healing.
Agnes, a descendent of Mary, feels compelled to track Mary’s life through the events of the seventeenth century and in the process finds her own place in today’s world.
This is an enthralling and moving sequel to Witch Child, but also a well-written and satisfying read in its own right.

At first I didn't think I'd like these books, but I was captivated by the first chapter. Such a great read, well done Celia Rees. I would love to read more books about Mary and her odd life, or about Agnes as an elderly person.
