Marooned in Manhattan

When twelve year old Evie's mother dies, she has to move to New York to live with her uncle, Scott. Evie wants to stay with her godmother in Ireland but reluctantly agrees to go for the summer. Uncle Scott is a vet and Evie gradually settles in, helping with the animals, making new friends and discovering life in New York isn't so bad after all. But then there's Leela, Scott's girlfriend, who clearly doesn't want Evie around. How far will Leela go to ensure Evie returns to Ireland?
