Don't want to go!

Publisher: Bodley Head

Lily's mum is in bed with flu and dad has to go to work, so Lily must spend the day at Melanie's house. She doesn't want to go, but she soon has fun playing with Ringo the dog.

She enjoys playing with baby Sam and sticking pictures with Melanie, even though she didn’t want to at first.

Later, they go to school to pick up Sam’s big brother Jack and they all play together. Ringo goes to sleep on Lily’s lap while they watch television.

Dad comes to pick up Lily, but she has had such a lovely day she says, 'Don’t want to go'.

Familiar activities and humorous illustrations in this reassuring story from Shirley Hughes.
