Danny

Publisher: Flying Eye Books

A picture book with a marked sense of humour for adults as well as younger readers in which a hippo overhears a conversation from which he fears that he lisps and sets out to find a remedy. Danny asks his friends the snakes if he does indeed lisp (he doesn't, but they do, of course) and searches for a dentist who can correct the gap between his teeth. The corrective procedure misfires, but a crocodile is so taken by Danny's braces that he visits the dentist, and does what all crocodiles do…

Simple, funny and stylish illustrations add humour. While younger readers will enjoy the visual impact, much of the text will be best enjoyed by a slightly older audience.
