Dancer the Wild Pony

Superfairies series

Publisher: Curious Fox

Another adventure in a series of short chapter books, in which fairies with special skills help animals in trouble.

Dancer the pony has become very nervous of entering the annual village dance competition, fearing that she won't win, so she runs away. The Superfairies, complete with fairycopter, search for her, and help her recover her confidence.

This book could provide reassurance for young readers who doubt their own ability in some way, and have become nervous of trying something. It could also suggest to others how they could support a friend in these circumstances, and offer help and encouragement.

Jennie Poh's bright, flowery illustrations admirably enliven the reading experience, and stand out as the high point of the book.
