5 fantastic farmyard books 14/03/25
Conspiracy of Ravens
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics / Penguin Random House
Anne Ravenhall is a teenager at boarding school, focusing on her exams and spending time with her best friend Binky. But all that changes when an aunt she's never even heard of passes away and leaves her a mysterious locket...
Soon, Anne discovers that the locket is far more than just a piece of jewellery, and she's not alone, either. There's a magical legacy bringing together a group of girls, but can Anne get them all together... and could one of them have hidden motives?
This supernatural graphic novel is a speedy ride, full of intrigue, light spookiness and (of course) brilliant outfits. The settings are fantastically gothic, too. Ravenhall is a character in itself - a classic, crumbling mansion in the English countryside - while Gables School for Girls feels ever so real.
But there's also time for everyday issues alongside the supernatural, from bullying to divorcing parents to the first beginnings of teen romance.
Full of atmosphere and adventure, we're eagerly awaiting more from the Dissimulation.
