100 Dogs

Publisher: Puffin

'Small dog, tall dog, playing with a ball dog; Big dog, small dog, burying a bone…'

The 100 dogs of 100 different breeds (count them!) in this clever yet accessible picture book are all doing something different, whether it’s doing as they’re told, yapping, saving someone in the snow, flapping their jowls in the wind out of a car window or pulling a sleigh. We follow the bouncy rhyme through the book, where dogs caper, beg and dash through a brilliant variety of scenes, mostly organised in clear horizontal panels across the pages, with a selection of full-page illustrations, too.

Ideal for kids that love dogs, this is also a brilliant rhyming book with a clever, simple premise that will become a family favourite. Whaite’s dog illustrations are varied and characterful, really capturing the differences in dog breeds and presenting them as individual characters.
